Understanding the Frame employment process

When considering a system to provide more opportunities for people to work with cycling instructors, there were a few important factors:

  • Making it universal
  • Keeping it simple especially with payments
  • Ensuring high standards

We’ve aimed to design a system that works for all the people we think want to work with instructors rather than trying to offer each organiser category something different. The most important consideration was how to ensure instructors could get paid quickly and securely. We settled on a credit-based system of prepayment which allows companies, organisations or even individuals to make one online payment upfront to purchase credits that can be used to start the planning process. The alternative was a more complicated system of purchase orders and invoices which would work for larger companies who have the infrastructure to handle these types of payments but punishes smaller businesses and organisations including instructors themselves. We believe our system is fair to everyone as typically, anyone who has access to a bank account can make a payment by card or bank transfer. This is our point of difference as based on our Founder’s experience of working as a cycling instructor, invoicing sometimes up to 30 days in arrears penalises self employed instructors and causes unnecessary friction when a deadline is missed or having to complete admin during a busy period.
